Built on trust
We only store what a feature actually needs to work. That means your Discord identity (so we know who you are), activity behind features you've turned on (like XP or currency), profile details you choose to fill in, and moderation records your own server's staff create. We don't store the full text of your regular server messages, and we never sell your information or use it for advertising. For the complete breakdown, see our Privacy Policy below.
Some servers using Veil choose to verify a member's age directly through their own staff before granting access to adult content — that's a decision each server makes for itself, not something Sable automates. When it happens, any ID or selfie image a member shares for that purpose is reviewed by that server's own staff and is never stored or retained by Sable.
Every Veil dynamic, restriction, or task requires the other member's explicit opt-in, and any member can revoke their participation at any time. Sensitive actions can also be routed through your server's own staff for visibility, so consent isn't just between two members in the dark — it's something your team can see and support.
The legal text
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Sable (the "Service"), a modular Discord bot platform and companion web dashboard operated by Sable ("Sable," "we," "us," or "our"), currently operated as an individual, unincorporated business based in Arkansas, United States.
By adding Sable to a Discord server, using any Sable command or feature, accessing the Sable web dashboard, or otherwise interacting with the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you are adding Sable to a Discord server on behalf of that server's ownership or staff, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to bind that server's administration to these Terms.
Sable is a modular add-on for Discord servers, built around six modules:
Server owners choose which modules to enable and pay for on a per-module subscription basis. Available modules, pricing, and bundle options are listed on Sable's pricing page and are subject to change with notice as described in Section 14.
Sable operates as a third-party application within Discord and depends on the Discord platform, Discord's API, and your continued compliance with Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We do not control Discord and are not responsible for Discord's availability, policies, or actions (including server bans, API changes, or account suspensions).
You must be at least 18 years old to use any part of the Service. This applies platform-wide, regardless of which modules a given server has enabled. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18.
We do not knowingly permit use of the Service by anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will take reasonable steps to remove their access and associated data. Server owners are responsible for taking reasonable measures to restrict server access to adults, consistent with Discord's own age requirements.
Veil is an opt-in module offering consent-based relationship dynamics features, some of which involve adult (NSFW) content and themes. Veil features are:
Server owner responsibility. Server owners enabling Veil or any NSFW-capable content (including NSFW-tier content in the Arena module's game content banks) are responsible for ensuring their server complies with Discord's own policies on age-restricted content, and with any applicable law in their jurisdiction and their members' jurisdictions regarding adult content and age verification.
Zero tolerance for content involving minors. Regardless of any opt-in or consent mechanism, Sable strictly prohibits any content that sexualizes, depicts, or describes minors in a sexual context, whether real, fictional, or implied. Any such content will result in immediate termination of access and will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or law enforcement as required by law.
Billing. Module subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly, unless otherwise stated) through our third-party payment processor, Stripe. Sable does not directly collect or store your full payment card information.
Server-level monetization features. Certain Sable features (e.g., Forge donation/tipping tools) may allow a server's members to send payments that are routed to that server's own connected Stripe account rather than to Sable. Where this applies, Sable acts solely as a technical facilitator; the receiving server and its owner are the responsible party for that transaction, including any tax, disclosure, or regulatory obligations tied to receiving those funds. Sable is not a party to and does not guarantee any transaction between a server and its members.
Cancellation. You may cancel a module subscription at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law or explicitly stated otherwise at time of purchase.
Price changes. We may change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of a paid module after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid modules until payment is resolved.
You agree not to:
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who violates this section, including removing content, suspending or terminating access, and reporting conduct to Discord or law enforcement where appropriate.
"User Content" means any data, text, configuration, or other material that you or your server submit to or generate through the Service — including profile information, messages processed by Sable's features, server configuration, and Veil-related submissions.
You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant Sable a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service to you and your server.
You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that you have the right to submit it and that it does not violate these Terms or any applicable law.
Certain Sable features (including but not limited to game narration, AI-generated Question of the Day content, and Arena Matchmaker compatibility comments) use third-party AI language model services to generate text. AI-generated content:
Server owners enabling AI-driven features are responsible for monitoring the appropriateness of generated content for their community.
The Service relies on and integrates with third-party providers, including Discord (platform), Stripe (payment processing), our hosting provider, and AI language model providers. Your use of the Service is also subject to the applicable terms of these third parties. We are not responsible for the availability, security, or conduct of third-party services.
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation (excluding User Content and third-party services), is owned by Sable and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to Sable's trademarks, logos, or branding except as necessary to use the Service as intended.
We may suspend or terminate your (or your server's) access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or conduct that we determine poses a risk to the Service, other users, or third parties.
You may stop using the Service and remove Sable from your server at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6–13) will survive.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SABLE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SABLE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100 IF YOU HAVE NOT MADE ANY PAYMENT.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sable from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with reasonable advance notice (e.g., via the dashboard or a designated announcement channel). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Arkansas.
[Placeholder — confirm with counsel whether you want a mandatory arbitration clause here instead of court jurisdiction; not included by default.]
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Sable regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.

The legal text
This Privacy Policy explains how Sable ("Sable," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Sable Discord bot and web dashboard (the "Service"). It applies to server owners, staff, and members who interact with the Service.
By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Discord identity data. Discord user ID, username, server nickname, avatar, server membership, and role assignments, as provided to us through the Discord API.
Feature-generated data. Depending on which modules a server enables, we may store:
Payment data. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment status and subscription details but do not receive or store full payment card numbers.
Dashboard session data. When you log into the Sable web dashboard via Discord OAuth, we create a session using a session cookie to keep you signed in. This is used solely for authentication, not tracking or advertising.
Veil is an opt-in module that may involve users voluntarily submitting information about consensual relationship dynamics, preferences, or roles. This information is:
We treat this category of data with heightened care. It is never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the feature the user opted into.
We use collected information to:
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Certain features (game narration, AI-generated Question of the Day content, Arena Matchmaker comments) send limited data — such as usernames or context needed to generate the specific output — to a third-party AI language model provider (currently Anthropic) for the purpose of generating that content in real time. This data is used only to generate the requested output and is subject to that provider's own data handling terms for API usage.
Data is stored on infrastructure provided by our hosting provider (currently Railway) and is primarily processed and stored in the United States. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect stored data, including access controls limiting who can view server data. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service is intended for users 18 and older platform-wide (see Terms of Service, Section 3). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
[Placeholder — this section may need to be expanded with specific age-assurance mechanics depending on the Act 612 legal review referenced above.]
We retain data for as long as Sable remains active in a server or an account remains in use. If Sable is removed from a server, or a user requests deletion, we will delete or anonymize associated data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or legitimate business purposes (e.g., financial records related to payments).
To request deletion or access to your data, contact us at the email in Section 12.
We share information only with:
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond to reasonable requests within a reasonable timeframe.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
